Production Characteristics

1. Appearance: smooth enamel coating, free from visible defects; color depends on the selected insulation.
2. Drawn or extruded aluminum conductor with an insulating enamel coating. The insulation system is selected for the ordered thermal class.
3. Coil forming performance depends on conductor temper, diameter, enamel flexibility and winding conditions. The natural oxide film does not replace the enamel insulation.
4. Electrical insulation and mechanical performance are evaluated under the applicable product specification. Thermal class does not establish flame retardancy or electromagnetic shielding.
5. Aluminum has approximately 30% of the density of copper at equal conductor volume. Actual winding weight and cost depend on the conductor area needed to meet resistance and temperature-rise requirements.
6. Heat resistance and chemical or transformer-oil compatibility depend on the selected enamel system and must be verified for the application.
